Takedown Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
To report an unauthorized preview, email legal@foundationx.com with "Takedown Request" in the subject. We acknowledge within 1 business day and decide within 5 business days.
Modified builds free preview conversions of websites. We require everyone who submits a site to confirm they own it or are authorized to modify it. We also use email-domain matching and DNS TXT verification to confirm ownership before capture. Despite these controls, if you believe a preview on our platform was built without your authorization, here is how to report it and what we will do.
Who can submit a takedown request
Any person or organization that owns the website at the domain in question, or is the authorized representative of the owner.
What to include in your request
Send an email to legal@foundationx.com with the subject "Takedown Request" and include:
- Your full name and contact email.
- The organization or business you represent (if applicable).
- The URL of the preview on our platform (e.g., a modified.site URL or the domain serving the preview).
- The URL of the original website you claim to own.
- A brief description of why you believe this preview was built without authorization.
- Evidence of ownership: a screenshot of your domain registrar showing you as registrant, confirmation that you can add a DNS record, or other reasonable documentation.
- This statement: "I have a good-faith belief that the use of the content described above is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law, and I declare under penalty of perjury that the information in this notice is accurate and that I am authorized to act on behalf of the owner."
- Your signature (typed name is acceptable).
What happens next
1
Acknowledgment (within 1 business day)We will confirm we received your request and give you a reference number.
2
Review (within 5 business days)We review your request and the evidence provided. We may contact you for additional information or ask you to complete a DNS verification to confirm ownership.
3
DecisionIf we determine the preview was built without authorization, we take it down within 5 business days of completing our review and notify the party who built it. If we cannot verify your claim, we explain why and what additional steps you can take.
4
Counter-noticeIf the party who requested the preview disputes the takedown, we notify you and give them an opportunity to respond. You may then pursue the matter through applicable legal channels.
How domain verification reduces this risk
When someone requests a preview, we check whether their email domain matches the submitted domain (fast verification) or ask them to place a DNS TXT record on the domain (confirmation verification). A requester who cannot pass either check cannot proceed to preview capture. This substantially limits unauthorized preview creation.
If you have not received a verification challenge and a preview of your site has been built, please include this in your report.
Repeat infringers
If a requester repeatedly submits sites they do not own, we will permanently ban their account and email address from the Service.
